I am almost done with my benchwork, and the tracks I have are gargraves 37" flex I plan on making the curves and octoflugeron wiggles invariable in a layout, with Fastrack switches, mainly O72 but a few O60 and a O48 as well, what is the best method to transition? I have gargraves pins for regular O gauge 3 rail, should I trim a small section of the O gauge 3 rail then use Fastrack transitions?

Gargraves has GG to O track mating pins. If you don't mine the extra 5", the FasTrack transition to O would be the simplest.

You could get the transition piece smaller by removing the FasTrack pins from a 1.75" or 1 3/8".

You can also cut the FasTrack leaving a factory end to the switch. Then carefully ream the cut end rails with a 7/64" drill bit to accommodate the O pin. Stay to the top of the inside of the rail and drill slowly. Method in the FasTrack Modular appendix. Creating a custom size piece.

Ron S,

Follow Moonman's advise and it comes out like a million bucks, use the new Command Control FT Switches and run them with your Legacy Cab2 or TMCC Cab 1 remote controls,

way cool stuff, you can use as many as 99 FT CC switches in this manner.  It really does work great. IMO GG track and FT CC switches are one very good way to engineer a layout,

of course you can also use FT track & FT CC Switches also.
