I have a new 6-82030 plug n play culvert unloader. Operations of this is.... When the car is put into position breaking the IR beam the house light is suppose to come on. Then when you activate the unloader via aux 2 the strobe lights flash and the action starts. If you move the car out of position of the IR beam the unloader is suppose to stop working and return to home. This is normal operation per manual.
My unloader does not act this way. My work house light is always on. IR beam broken or not. When car is in place hitting aux 2 gets the action going and strobe lights flashing . Hitting aux 2 again turns the action and lights off. When the unloader is operating and you move the car out of position away from the IR beam the unloader does not stop and return home it keeps working.
As it is now it unloads almost 100% accurately when unloading the culverts. On the CS parts web sight the IR Sensor is not to much and available. The PCB is must contact lionel to order. This is under warrenty, but I am affraid to ship it back and possibly have further damage to this accessory in shipping. I would like to fix this my self if possible since it is unloading the culverts accurately. Replacing an $8 IR sensor is much cheaper than shipping it back to customer service and risk further damage. Can you or somone help out here.
Do I have a bad IR sensor or is my PCB board the problem?
