I’m wiring about 6 accessories from an old ZW accessory control so I can power them up to 14v independent from track power. This is for a small, seasonal setup under the Christmas tree - nothing permanent - and primarily running a 2025/675 postwar set (along with some modern accessories).
I’m trying to be efficient with my wire runs, and trying to figure out if it’s better to just run my Hot out to each accessory and let each accessory’s Common/Ground connect to the outside track rail; or, run hot AND common from the transformer all the way to each accessory.
There doesn’t seem to be a difference from the usability perspective, but I wasn’t sure if there was an advantage or disadvantage from connecting common/ground for full runs or to the track.
Would love the groups perspective!
