I was running two trains tonight. I had a Genesis running on my outside main and a CP Rail -8 on the inside of my G scale outback using my third backup remote with 5.x installed. I had an issue where I parked the trains on powered track and the Genesis lost it's sounds when I resumed the session. I tried various resets and volumes. It finally reset itself when I cycled power to the rails. As strange as that was I ran into another problem.
I would run the two trains and after a few minutes of inactivity, the remote would not change the speed of the Genesis with the thumbwheel? The thumbwheel would scroll thru all the menus and worked correctly on all other stuff. I could set the quickset speed to whatever I chose. I found that cycling the power of the remote brought back the speed control of the engine.
This exact cycle happened three more times. I tried to leave the -8 in the active screen to see if it would happen to that one. That inside mainline has my newest Version L TIU attached with all tens for signal.'
For some reason it was only to the Genesis? It would come back when I cycled remote power. It was in address #32 if that mattered? All other functions worked perfectly on the Genesis. It responded fully to the remote for everything else? This only occurred later on in the night. I noticed that the remote also seemed confused on when the backlight should come on? Not sure if that's connected in anyway? I was using a third older TIU with 4.X installed. The outside main track has weaker areas of signal too using that older TIU without bulbs attached to the rails in a rush job. So I can't figure out if it's the remote or the older TIU version compatibility?
I need to get an adapter cable for the older tiu that doesn't have the USB port to upgrade with my newer computer.
