I have just completed main line of new layout....DCS is running fine no issues.  I set up a TIU track to run a new conventional engine..it is very sporadic...it will just stop for no reason I give a push it may or may not go....scroll down the voltage and start again it may start..just very sporadic.  I always get it going again....just won't run continuous.

Any thoughts.

Try using DCS engines on the variable channel.

If the same problems occur, the problem may well be in the track work or the wiring. If the DCS engines work well, the problem is most likely in the conventional engines.

At first glance, it sounds like dirty track, or dirty wheels or pickup rollers on the conventional engines. I'd almost bet money that this is not a problem with the DCS hardware or software.

Dirty track was it...that might have been the lease technical answer you have ever given. I thought all my track was clean as it just recently been put down... but looks like i missed about three different sections that were causing the problem.

Amazing the difference in performance between DCS and conventional with respect to clean track.
