I am looking to convert an ERR AC Commander board to a DC Commander to control a DC motor engine. Do I just need to add a bridge rectifier to the board? Will this rectifier from Amazon work? link

Measure the spacing of the pins on the rectifier to make sure it's the same as the pads on the AC Commander. Jon Z. informed me that the firmware is the same on the two boards, so just adding the missing components should do the trick.
Be advised, this board will not have cruise. In the end, it’s still an AC commander, you’re just rectifying the output. ….

I guess I forgot that ERR once sold a DC Commander, that was distinct from the more advanced "Cruise Commander."
That being said, what was the advantage of buying an AC Commander instead of the DC commander to control a Pullmor-motored loco? I know that Pullmors will run on DC; some say they run better on DC than they do on AC !!
Thanks for the quick replies! Glad to hear the firmware is the same on the two boards.

Because it wouldn't have a reverse function without some extra wiring. The AC Commander has three leads to reverse the armature phase for AC motors. After adding the bridge, the DC Commander wouldn't have that ability.
