Of my return to York after a 11 year absents? I was talking to my son and I was thinking he'll be 11 in April; Plus I wonder when his spring break falls on next year and low and behold it falls on the same week as the York show. So I had to tell him all about it and I could see he really wants to go, who wouldn't. So with a little luck and little cashed saved on the side I can finally attend a DCS users group meeting.

The scenery is finally begun, ballasting the track, trees shrubs, buildings, etc etc. The Yards are built, most of the rolling stock has been converted to Kadee couplers. Some odds n ends with wiring to finish. If I can stay away from doing electronic upgrades to engines this winter I might actually accomplish something.
My son is at the age where he's really taking a interest in helping out so he's pushing me to get things done.
I'll be doing new videos this winter and posting them on my Youtube page.
Looking at Hotel prices and I see the cheapest is around 130.00 a night. Is that about avg? I remember ten years ago it was around 80 At least this time around there are room available

If you can drive 20-30 minutes, you can get very decent hotel rooms for $55 - $85....
My buddy likes to go with inexpensive. We stay about 20-30 minutes away and pay somewhere around fifty dollars for a bare bones place. No amenities, but cheap and clean. They have a continental breakfast that we skip. There is a diner across the street.
I usually stay at the Rodeway in downtown York. A 5 minute drive to the fairgrounds, and $80. ($72. senior) rate is ideal for me. Nothing fancy, but I do get wii, fridge, micro, and a simple breakfast. I have stayed there 6 times, so far.
If you don't mind waiting until the last minute (night before) you can get good prices on the higher end hotels on Priceline or Travelocity. I sometimes don't book until I actually get to York but then I'm by myself and not with an 11 yr old.
