That's Funny!
My grandfather's nightmare...getting calls from other farmers saying some of his
Guernseys had gotten out of a break in the fence at the far end of his acreage, across the shallow creek and two lane state road and up on the Southern Railway. Bad enough if they got up on the state road. Nothing like dodging traffic while trying to shoo Bossy
back through whatever hole she found in the fence, while keeping her off the road.
coloradohiraile, my post is meant to be more on the light side. A FUNNY, that's why the cows came to look at the cow "riding" the train.HA HA ACE got it! Have a good one!
The story line presented in the initial post is the kind of thing I'm always looking for to use as a "Rail Tales" feature in the magazine (earns the contributor $200). The one pictured above would not be eligible now because it was "published" here, but folks who come up with creative little stores, along with about 5 or so photos to describe the event, are encouraged to contact me with an outline of their story idea and a sample photo or two.
BUMMER ALLAN!! I had no idea I could have made alittle spending change from this tale. I"LL keep it in mind the next time one of these stories "pop up". Thank's for mentioning it.
NOT MUCH OF A RESPONSE TO MY POST ANYWAYS I WONDER HOW MANY FOLKS ARE AWARE OF THE COMMENT FROM ALLEN. CHING CHING $$$
Cute story! You actually prompted me to create a Rail Tales story that I just submitted. Hopefully it makes it into the magazine.
Keep up the good work.
