My Trackmobile lights up on power up but at the touch of the throttle it does not move and the lights go out.   I opened up the top cabin to see if anything was amiss and I did not see any wires frayed, etc, or plugs out of socket...nothing.   I also went through the 'reset' procedure  in the manual, no joy.  Since it receives the command to move, then instantly turns off, I'm thinking  either the main  control board is damaged  in some way or there is a short somewhere farther into the bowels of this thing. It's very compact, many plugs. Suggestions for things I can do  short of sending it to Lionel  or making it part of a static scene on my layout?  Thanks.

John, I did as you suggested. Pic of the state of the Trackmobile  and youtube video of its operation. Rather than reassemble I simple stacked the parts back and put it on the track. It ran as it should. Only  thing I noticed is the lights flickered when I hit the coupler button on the Cab2

What do you suspect is going on?

I reassembled the beast and now it runs just fine...there is a flicker when I hit the coupler button but it works.   I'm going to leave well enough alone unless you think that flicker is abnormal and needs attention.  thanks again for the suggestion to hit the reverse quickly...that started the road to recovery.

ToledoEd...I also have a similar problem with my trackmobile. The unit starts with a hesitation, then moves slowly down the track with  noticeable thump each time the wheels turn. Thinking this is a mechanical problem I approached from the bottom of the unit working my way up. All looks good up to the intermediate gear but cannot see much after that.

I see you made a video that may help me from the top down. I tried the You Tube feed but no joy. Would you mind sharing it with me?
