Can this be put in the lionel ac 9 with the 2 chuff per rev and somewhat fast cruise to correct this. Slower starting speed and 4 chuffs. If so is it a fairly easy switch like the cruise add on for the kline Hudson? Thanks for any answer.

You would need the Cruise "M" for wireless tether. That will improve the running but will not change the chuff. You can change the chuff with a couple of magnets and a reed switch or modifiy the way your cherry switch is fired.
