While on this subject I was looking to see if I could find decals for labeling shipping crates like Fragile , this side up , lift here , top load, along with the icons that would match these notations
Have you tried Forum Sponsor "LBR Enterprises Custom Decals"?
First, you can search the Internet...for "custom decals", and similar phrses.
Or, you could go to Rail Graphics; I have used them for years. Great quality. railgraphicsdecals.com.

I believe I stated that right before your post.
I've used do it yourself lettering with great results. There is a minimum size but you get a quote from an actual person.

The Thunderbird, White Pass door decal, and license plate are all custom decals I've had made by this company.

I also tried to have custom decals made by l b r enterprise.
Good luck .
their communication with customers is non existent.
I had decals made by LBR enterprises and they turned out great. Dave was very helpful and overall it was a great experience. I will be using them again soon.

ya I saw that after I posted it.
I had the forum on reply while I looked for the link and you got in ahead of me.
you should take it as a complement that I posted the link.
Well,
dave sent me proofs all was going well and then zero responses.
I even asked where to send payment and still no response.
This was months ago
There is pretty much zero profit in this kind of stuff. My decal guy took the last train west, and his business is now run by La Belle. I am having him do some tank car decals - I expect it to take six months. I will send him maybe $25.
I gotta tell you, $25 would hardly get me off the couch.
I don't think $25 buys a six pack of Sierra Nevada beer any more. Amtrak wanted $7 per bottle.
Have you tried making your own decals with scanned images printed on laser water slide decal paper?
If you can produce the desired logo and lettering, and make it into a .pdf, then a local printer can do the rest.
The following are some examples I have made...one is prototype and the other is proto-lanced:

BINGO!!!!!
If you charge TRUE cost no one wants to pay.....which is what happened to me.
I went from doing it as a hobby with reasonable charges to charging true cost AND a small profit. That stopped it all pretty fast. I still do my own stuff and I do the artwork for a few model car companies......but custom work is no more.

Why would you go to Amtrak to buy beer anyway?

Good question! Fly to the Chicago area and purchase two 6 packs for under $25.

Better yet, Bob is in San Diego - Go over to the Yardhouse and get a beer at the bar,
I use Dave's decal sets all the time and I have no difficulty communicating with him.
He just made quite a few sets for me.
The new decals sets are on new paper he is using and it will take longer to slide the decals.
I'll try again, but like I said I was already to pay, I liked the design he came up with, and then no more communication.
I'll contact Dave again and see if he would like to make my decals. Root for me!
