As documented, with PS2 (and, I assume, PS3) you can not change the name of a powered unit that has transit sounds due to the memory location used for the transit info.

I have a Protosound B&O Doodlebug, purchased in 1998, that was upgraded to PS2 in 2009.  I assume, prior to the upgrade, either myself or my son customized the name, which is now permanent.  Sadly, one of us misspelled "Doodlebug" as "Doddlebug".  Every time it shows up in the Active engine list it absolutely drives me crazy.  Since that is now the permanent name, a factory reset can't change it.  Anybody have an undocumented solution to how I can correct the spelling?

Thanks.

Sorry, Gregg - you have me at a loss.  It was upgraded by my LHS's service tech, using a kit I purchased from MTH.  When you say "edit the name" is that something you can do during the upgrade process?  If so, it's probably too late for that.  If you mean "edit the name" now that it's been upgraded, by using the remote's "edit" function under "engine set-up", that is not possible for this unit, which falls under the same rules as subways and trolleys.  Please clarify with greater detail exactly what you mean by "edit the name".

Thanks.

Looks like the guys have you fixed up.   I thought you could give the engine a custom name using a upgrade  kit. .  It must have special programming.
