Hi, I was checking the posts on the transformer and would like to know if I can use my transformer without the fan working. Everything else works fine. Thank you for your time, John.

It will probably overhead in time, especially if you're putting a significant load on it. The fan is there because the triacs that control the voltage get pretty hot.
Pretty sure that's a plain computer 12V fan, they're only a couple bucks.

Doesn't that transformer have unusual heads on the screws that hold the case on? Triangular screwdriver needed?

Yep, an old Phillips screwdriver and a grinder solve that problem. You can also buy those triangle driver sets for a few bucks on Amazon.
Thank you very much for your response. I think the ogr posts are very helpful. I'll check this out and thank you again, John.
