Hi,

I'm afraid if somebody just ask it before... but I don't find this information. Can an engine equipped with a PS2 decoder run into a DCC layout? Or only the PS3 can do it?

If not, what happen? Start to burn? Or simply stay off the engine? Or run but with limited functions available? Or can run only with factory default configuration and is impossible change it?

Thanks

Riccardo

Riccardo,

Only PS3 engines engines can operate under DCC control. If a PS2 engine finds itself on a DCC controlled track, it may still be able to be operated conventionally, however, I'n not certain.

Newer PS2 engines (with 3 volt PS2 boards) can be operated conventionally under DC voltage, however, there may be issues when older PS2 engines (with 5 volt boards) are operated conventionally under DC voltage.
