The Apple App Store doesn't have the DCS App available yet, it takes a bit to be vetted by Apple. The WIU is not available yet and the MTH testers are very tight lipped about it. I imagine it'll be the same as the Lionel LCS wifi module with the ability to act as an acces point or connect to your network. There should be no internet acces required for the WIU

Derek Thomas & Notch 6 - http://www.notch6.com/

Derek interviews  Andy Edelman on the MTH 2016 Catalog, Vol.1 show.

Andy talks about the APP, The paid APP will not be out until early 2016 and the engineers in Michigan are still working on the APP at the "MTH - Skunk Works".

I am not yet sold on the new WiFi APP, I want to see the paid version up and running on You Tube or at my Local Hobby Shop.

It does look very cool at the Google APP Store, see screen shot below.

The quick-reference manual is already on MTH's site. The WIU can be stand-alone or part of a network. It can be found here.

The App has a pretty polished look to it, but I obviously won't get to test it until the WIU's ship.
