If every other loco works fine on both tracks, and only this loco does not, I don't see how it would be a remote or TIU problem.

Have you checked signal strength on Track 2 using one of the locos that works ok there?

I'm getting a little confused on the facts.

Do you have one or 2 power supplies?  If more than one, are they plugged into the same wall receptacle? 1 or 2 TIUs?

How do you power the TIU(s) itself?

Which TIU channels are you using for which track?

Ok here goes
I power the tiu with Lionel bricks
1 on track one and two on track two
Everything worked for over a year
Nothing has changed
All PS3 engines run on both tracks
All that's all the ps2 will run fine on track one and not at all on track 2
So it has to be in the tiu
I hooked the wires directly to the rollers and wheels and the ps2 locks will accept commands if you now hook the red to ground and the black to the rollers
Something inside tiu has failed
Nothing was moved changed etc
Never had this happen

Can you post picture of TIU Output side.

There really is nothing electronic that can fail and cause this.  Either the internal wires on the TIU Fixed 2 output (inside TIU) are swapped, or the wires on all your PS-2 are internally swapped.

If this really worked one day (your sure ) on PS-2 and the next day it did not and no one worked on your TIU , I am baffled.

No big deal though, just swap leads to your track 2 and it works right?  G

I just had a thought that didn't die from loneliness.

Is your locomotive 2-rail/3-rail capable? If so, there's also a polarity switch that causes the unit to read DCS commands from the negative rail. I don't recall how/if this switch has an effect in 3-rail operation, but I'd check that switch since putting the red on ground allows the locomotive to work.

If I'm following correctly (please tell me if I'm not, I only skimmed the post), it's only this one engine....I have experienced crazy DCS issues from weak batteries.  I would swap out the battery or BCR if you have one in there, for a fully charged (rechargeable) battery and see what happens.  I have done that in the past when I had perfect track signal and cannot acquire engine (just sits there dark) and all of a sudden it comes to life (programs, stars up etc...).  Just a suggestion.
