Uhh... I think I quite clearly stated that I knew it was mechanical three hours ago, since you pointed it out some time ago in this thread. No need to keep stating what we already know. 
I don't see any reason why turning the wheel faster should confuse the circuitry unless it's very poorly designed.

Ok so is it safe to say, that if the lube does not help correct the issue, to replace the wheel?
John, I was responding to RJR, not you. Just pointing out the earlier post on this.
I definitely believe you can move it to fast. Same with the DCS Commander Throttle Wheel. Spin it to fast and you can get erratic behavior including going up in voltage when your moving in the decreasing direction.
Trackahead, I would say yes. If cleaning doesn't work it needs replacement. G
