A quick question. Can I use the USB port for updates? I'm assuming that's true, I was able to connect to a remote and download it's configuration. The reason I ask is, my serial port adapter that works with my Legacy system fails to work with the DCS TIU.

John,
Yes, you can. However, you need to install a USB driver. I'm E-mailing you a Zipped copy of the driver.
Barry,
Windows found a driver automatically and I was able to access the port and download the remote configuration, so I assumed it was working. Is there something special, other than serial port emulation, that the driver does?
John,
Are you able to talk to the TIU over the USB port, including sending a sound file to an engine?
If you are, you should be good to go. If not, install the driver that I E-mailed to you.
Barry, Anything special about your driver versus what Microsoft provides for an XP set up? G
Well, my TIU is on it's way back to MTH, but I was able to talk to the TIU and backup the remote, so I'm presuming it's talking properly. I'll stash that driver just in case there's a problem.

I really don't know except mine is the one recommended ny MTH and it works.

Can you send me that driver file Barry?
Thank you very much.
I updated my second remote using the USB and the driver that Windows 7 found, worked fine. I suspect if it talks to it and is happy that it probably works. Don't know why the same cable and adapter I use for the Legacy doesn't work for the TIU, but since the USB works, it's only a minor point.
J.P.,
Can you send me that driver file Barry?
