Bare copper wire? For what?
i miss spelled thinned copper wire.i was looking for some wire for mth dcs. i found some on amazon that was tinned and some on another web site that was tinned copper and what they called bare copper.will the tinned copper hurt the dcs signal. thanks tom.
tomdice,
I like the multi strand 14 gauge wire for my DCS layouts, it works great and portrays signal very well. I like it better than single strand for DCS.

Dave, you are correct.
Marty Fitzhenry,
I do believe it was you long ago that taught me this, between you and Barry I have learned much and avoided many frustrations!
Thanks for all the knowledge including the magic light trick. The old multi level DCS layout ran perfectly because I listened to you guys long ago. I am now incorporating the FasTrack Command control Switches into my Christmas layout and this Christmas it will probably be at least 2 levels. We will see if the CC FT Switches need a magic light beside each one, to keep my signal strength up around 10. The 2 Y CC switches had no effect on the DCS signal last Christmas, I will add a few more CC FT switches & Legacy operation this year, and see what happens.
Thanks again for all the knowledge.

I do notice that the Fastrack switches running from track power seem to have a minor effect on DCS signal strength. If you have a bunch of them, it might make a significant difference.
I'm considering using one of the 22uh chokes instead of the track power jumper to see if that will solve any signal degradation that the switch power introduces.
