Does Mth still offer dcs upgrade kits to club members at favorable pricing?  I remember a lot of posts on this subject last year and I intend to upgrade a few engines this year for the first time.  I was looking into joining one of the mthrr clubs to get the discount but I don't see that mentioned as one of the benefits of membership.  Since the club car itself really doesn't appeal to me, is this still the most cost effective way to acquire an upgrade kit?

Thanks in advance for all replies,

John Z.

I have found the kits online (modeltrainstuff.com), for 169.99 plus shipping. If you are joining the club, for the discounts, it becomes a math problem.

Good point. You can call mts and ask. Not only are they online, but they have a brick and mortar, with the same prices and a knowledgeable staff. They spent a half hour going through DCC systems, with me, before I bought my N scale DCC. They have also tested locos (again, when I have stopped in the store), before purchase. I've seen them go out of stock on these, so I would bet they are new, but calling is better.
