Decals for Standard Gauge...

Hi Mark,

I highly recommend contacting Jim at Highball Graphics. A few years ago I had him make replacement decals for one of the cars in my Williams standard gauge TCA 25th Anniversary Special. The end product couldn't have come out any better. In fact, I think it looks better than what Jerry Williams used all those years ago.

Hi Mark,

Depending on which items you are restoring, rubber stamping may be another option to replace the original lettering.  JLM Trains has reproduction rubber stamps for most Lionel (and some Ives) pre-war rolling stock and locos.

I use Ralph D'Alessandro in Brooklyn.  He does business on eBay as Radtrains.  If you do an eBay search on "Lionel 180-181-182 decals", you will find him.  He has  a couple of hundred sets of decals for prewar Lionel, Ives and AF.  I just bought the 180-181-182 set from him - $12.50.

BUT WAIT UNTIL June 1.  He's on vacation and his site returns 0 entries today.

I've bought many set from him.  A good supplier.

J&A Hobbies dry transfer decals. Not as messy as the stamps, no water slide film to hide. They're on FB.

I  use o GAUGE decals and they look good on standard gauge cars. I've done a lot of cars this way and posted many pictures here on the forum if you want to see how they look.  I've included a few pictures below.

Those look great; 👍...although I'm thinking more along the lines of "original" type lettering, like "Lionel Corporation", etc.
