In construction for the last 10 yrs work is finally winding down. Many of you have asked how the layout is progressing so its time for a sneak peak. I hope to have a full feature of the layout in a major model railroad magazine this fall.

So here you go a picture of the recently constructed river gorge, the center town of Danielson and Douglastown , the town made from mostly false fronts. The major (and largest) town of Dennisdale is missing so everyone will need to wait until I can get my layout article published. Presently three loops are finished the final loop is 70% done. After that it is complete we open for visitors. Of course if anyone wishes to come by now and see the construction progress they are welcome to do so.

The town that isn't there. Built almost entirely of flats and building fronts. Next two photos.

Tracks and waterfalls on three levels

and I had to sneak a picture of our best friend Sweetie the 20 lb cat.

The Track plan was loosely based on Frank Ellisons legendary 1940's Delta Lines layout but it isn't point to point. It was sketched on scratch paper and then we built as it went along. Its a bit smaller than the Ellison layout at 28' x 18', is traditional 3 rail (the original was outside three rail) and it does incorporate all of the important towns and many scenic features. What you see here in these pics is less than 1/2 of what is there. We've got to save some photos for the magazine article that I have planned.

Thanks for all of the compliments guys but remember I am finishing this layout for all to see. I learned long ago that that the best part of a hobby was sharing it with others. The layout may not be all that special but it is different and unique.. Its a throw back to the scratch built model railroading of the 1940's and a tribute to the genius of Frank Ellison with a few less and a few extra touches. While we are about 90% complete anyone on this forum is welcome to come over to see it. In about 1 month the layout should be 98% complete.
