Pretty standard stuff for a simple drop-in derailment. Been there and done that MANY times. The guys doing this are GOOD. They did a nice job getting the engine back up on the rails.
Too bad the video itself is so bad. I couldn't watch it all the way through. Too many fast and shaky camera moves. The photographer means well, but has no idea what he's doing behind a video camera.
Thanks for posting this! I had no idea how they re railed an engine. I just assumed they used cranes.
got a friend north of me that has an old amusment park train.
3 ft gauge. we were out one night running around the property and one
of the open passender cars came off the rails.
That was real railroading. we sweated getting that thing back on the rails.
How often does an engine derail similar to what the video posted? Not severe accidents but is derailing a somewhat routine incident?

I thought the video was an excellent piece of work. It shows just how much 'hands on'
involvement has to be done in such a situation.
