My new layout will need an access hatch.

The base will be 3/4 " foam board over 5/8" plywood and use FT. I intend to paint the foam top earth brown and cover with different shades of ground cover while wet as the base color. It will have lots of scenery, structures, buildings, etc.

Once the track is built, I don't anticipate having to use the hatch very much, so I'm looking for ideas on how to disguise it or cover it up ?

Thanks

Here's a few of my hatches.  Roof opens up on this building.

The white tanks in the square raise up. The broad that the tanks are on is hooked to a plastic 1-1/2"

pipe that is in a 2" pipe hooked to the floor.  The tanks raise straight up on the pipes and

then can be turned out of the way.

The area to the left of the water tower is a hatch.

And an opening behind the hill.  Also behind my grandson is a emergency exit, to get out of

the building (full door with the top half behind the shy)
