Lionel Disney 50th Anniversary Train Set

The "Disney Greed" really shows through on the price.  You can get a Frozen set (basically the same set just different graphics applied) for $350 from on-line retailers while this one goes for $500 on Shop Disney site.  And similar Disney aquarium cars go for around $85 compared to the Shop Disney $150.  I'll pass on this one.

The dis in Disney does not stand for discount.

Jim, Perhaps include in your thread title that its the "Disney World" 50th anniv. set & aquarium car.   Aside from that, both are quite the rip-off, sadly.

I am a huge Disney fanatic, but I just don’t have the budget or extra space for this train.  Kinda wish I did, though!

I agree that the price is too high, but it’s a nice set with announcements from the actual ride itself which is what sold me on purchasing it.  

Every once in a great while, there is a 20% off sale that doesn’t exclude Lionel which knocks the price down by $100 and shipping is free.  

The aquarium car is nothing special and can be found on the auction sites for around $85 - $100.

What Jim doesn't mention is his wife is a huge Disney fan AND accompanies him to York.  So according to my good friend Jiminy Cricket, there will be one on his layout soon

The set (2123170) was available late last year, but this is the first time I've seen the add on car.
