I suspected that was the case, I have certainly never heard it mentioned. I have the 2nd generation PE set locomotive and tender, some day I'll get it upgraded. It's bare right now, nothing inside except the motor.
No, I have no interest in anything Harry Potter...not my cup of tea.

Expresses my sentiments exactly. Although I don't think JK Rowling is any worse off because of it.

If you had kids or grandkids that loved HP, you'd have a different point of view.

I'm sure that's the case, John. But I will say this... I recall the brilliant folks at TW Trainworx in Dallas, Tx. created a home layout for a home residence that was absolutely magnificent. And even though I don't normally give HP stuff a second look, that layout really caught my eye. Almost made an HP fan out of me!

I would love to have the Hogwarts Express set but due to space limitations of my small layout I would never be able to run it on my layout. However, I might try and maybe kit-bash something for a smaller custom Hogwarts Express.

Same here. Nor do I think Bill Gates is any worse off because I don't use Windows, but it's still not for me.
It's good to see Lionel producing a European-prototype train, though.

I remember that layout, it was magnificent, no doubt about it!

The Hogwarts Express needs O36 curves, so it's not that much of a space hog. Just think, you'd really have trouble running the Vision Line Big Boy!
I'm in (not a kid) and have all the cars and lego buildings. Built two more lego buildings from scratch. Waiting on PS3 kits and will see if gunrunnerjohn can fit it all in along with some smoke! Terry

Haha a Vision Line Big Boy! nope it would be on a shelf haha.
I might make a Marx custom if I can find a junker 666. I would make it into a custom Hogwarts Express,
The only issue will be the size of the PS/3 upgrade kit board, I've already put the PS/2 smoke unit with my Super-Chuffer into the locomotive, I used the Cruise Commander Lite and RailSounds Commander for the command upgrade.
To see that upgrade, check out this thread: Hogwarts Express Command Upgrade
I've been quite frustrated for a couple of years that Lionel saw fit to release a four-car set of these cars in Halloween livery (two two-car pairs), but although it made TWO different "North Pole Central" versions of the Potter engine (one red, one green).... it released only a two-car North Pole Central pair & stopped! That leaves those of us who bought the first two car NPC set in GOOD FAITH to sit & stew waiting for a second North Pole Central two-car set that apparently will never see the light of day!
