I was watching YouTube and and saw that MTH and LCT uses the same Steam sounds in both o-gauge and Standard Gauge Engines. Do this bother you? I realize aa person can download another sound file but why should we have to do this?
I would hope that if I was running a 400e and a 381e, and a 260e at the same time that they would not all sound alike.

When it comes to tinplate, there are no sounds that could be called prototypical. The market has to settle for what's there. It's a little like WbB TBII, you get what you get. The only prototypical tinplate sounds are the squeaks and the rattles. Least I forget, the sounds heard by using the imagination.
I would think that not to many people run "O" and Standard Gauge trains at the same time. With all my new Tin Plate I do not really care about the sound because I only run one set under the Christmas Tree the rest are on display.
