Dibble's is certainly the oldest train shop in San Antonio. (est. 1957)  In the 70's I purchased all of their Lionel parts inventory when I guess they were thinking of getting out of trains.  They did not.  While I was standing there talking with them a kid asked if I bought trains.  He came back with a AA Santa Fe and cars.

If you are downtown and since the station is close to downtown you will be close have lunch on the Riverwalk at Casa Rio Mexican restaurant. (est. 1947)

Thanks so far. Yes it would be fun to see the Alamo, but once you have seen it once then what can you do. Also, have y'all heard of Dibble's trains or something like that. I found them on Lionel, but I didn't know if any one know of anyone else.

Dibble's is a general hobby shop with a very small footprint and very limited model railroad (especially O scale) selection.  HobbyTown on the north side of Loop 410 between Jackson-Keller and Vance Jackson has a larger footprint and more merchandise, but you likely would be disappointed with the selection unless you will be in the immediate vicinity anyway.  That's all the Alamo City presently has to offer in brick and mortar.

Again, thanks. I figured that would be the case with these big cities, but I thought why not try. Also, I do live in Texas but from what it sounds like my town has more o gauge to offer than the big city. Oh well, thanks again.
