Do you prefer box cars with opening doors?

I was at Milwaukee's Trainfest and was going to buy several cars and than changed my mind when I saw the doors did not open.  I love how many of you guys have detailed the inside of some of your box cars.  It just adds so much to a layout with that level of detailing and helps differentiate boxcar to boxcar.  I buy more Atlas than anything else, but the molded cars are just disappointing to me.  That's just me.  I hope to get to the point where I'm majority done with the layout where I can turn more attention to weathering and detailing of freight cars like some of the masters here on the forum.      

On my layout I glue most of the doors closed I have some that open use them mainly for photos the rest I leave closed permanently.

I would buy Boxcars with doors that don't open. Roo.

I prefer scale detail over opening doors. Whether it is on boxcars, passenger cars, locomotives, or cabooses.  But considering which forum this is posted in, I'm sure the majority will insist on opening doors.

So much drama.  It seems the announcement is about plug door boxcars, which should never be run with the doors open anyway.

100% correct.....they slide pretty easy and thus can be badly damaged if left open. So yes....lots of drama over plug doors......

If they are plug doors, then yet they can be molded in the body.

Hey, the doors gotta open.  The mimi-mob has to have a place to toss the bodies.  LOL.

I prefer an open door policy in most cases with my O scale freight cars as well as my N scale ones. If I really want an item that is not available with an open door then, that will be ok in that case.
