When I first attended York in April 2012, leading up to show I kept wanting to see pictures of the meet itself and related activities. Just sort of heightened the excitement and "buzz" for me. This also helps other first timers to better visualize what the trip and location will look like. So I thought I'd make a fun thread for anyone who would like to document their York experience this year in either words or photos. I'll kick things off with the first official ritual of the trip - packed bags!

Been here for two days and having a great time.  Supper last night and lunch today with Barry broskowitz, Jim Barrett, and Alan Arnold.  Sitting in my room reading the new MTH catalog and soon to get ready for the DCS meeting.   Anyone in the area please join us at the Round the Clock Diner after the meeting for coffee and great friends.  Everyone welcome.

Can't remember to be perfectly honest. I was just along to help transport it back to where we were staying in Franklin Square. All I remember was the beautiful rolling hills and countryside. This was the car, a 1966 red on red Corvette convertible. Bought at the "Corvettes at Carlisle" show, nearby York!

-Cost of roundtrip flight from San Diego to Harrisburg, with a 2 hour layover in Philly today, $542

-Cost to upgrade my seat from middle to emergency row aisle seat, $98

-Cost of inedible salad in the U.S. Airways business lounge, $14.50

-3 days of hardcore O Gauge action at York, PRICELESS!!!

After a tearful goodbye to my 3 kids (4 mths, 1.5 & 3.5 yr olds) and to my 'patience of a saint' wife, the childlike enthusiasm to get to York really kicked in.  Can't wait to meet some of you chaps from the forum and immerse myself in 3-Rail Nirvana.

Good times!

Well, here's some documenting of the "York Experience", October, 2013.  Frank M., BlimpMan, Don, BK and me, RT, are all present and enjoying the event.  The first photo is at the TCA Museum (Frank M., BlimpMan and BK).  The second photo is RT at the "new" steam train ride in New Freedom, PA.  The third photo shows why part of the "York Experience" is always a factory tour or two (Don, BlimpMan, Frank M., and BK).  The last photo is at the Choo-Choo Barn in Strasburg (RT - Frank) .

Good times!

look for Jon, Bob and Wednesday Jim.

We flew into Baltimore from Palm Springs, CA....rented a car and drove to York. Got to our hotel, checked in, and went out for some food. stopped at the grocery store to buy some alcohol and they looked at us like we were from a different planet. Illegal to sell alcohol from a drug store or grocery store???? WTF! Did we travel back in time in a Dalorian? Thats the funniest thing I have ever heard. But apparently selling alcohol in a regular store is the funniest thing the locals have heard. Lmao

What is NOT funny are the PA controlled prices, which is why I drive 15 Minutes to buy from liquor stores in Delaware. Case in point: Dewars 1/2 Gal. $31. in DE, $42. in PA plus 6% sales tax.

A friend and I took Cesar up on his invite last April. His layout is a sight to behold!

If you're nice he might even let you at the controls...
