I'm doing a diorama on my new layout of part of the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral. It will feature the railway there and I would like to add some alligators in the waterways and channels found around the site.

Dave,
Arttista http://www.arttista.com/ makes them. I saw many places on the net selling them.
Chris
I was gonna say Okefenokee Swamp. When I was there in the mid 80's, you could
tiptoe among small ones, apparently well fed, dozing on the banks (they had big
ones in pens). I don't know where you are going to get scale kudzu, though, for
near there, there were miles, lierally, of boxcars parked, and covered with kudzu.
Thanks Chris. I'll snap them up.

GROAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was a bad one!
I have one of the Artistta alligators. It's S-M-A-L-L!!! I wanted a bigger one but couldn't find one.

You can kinda see the alligator in these shots. It is still in the arttista package on the right hand side. At least it gives you a hint of the size. The tail is "blocked" by a light reflection but you can see what it would look like in the 2nd.

Thanks Walt, the ones I've seen around the Space Center weren't that big anyway.
Dave I had heard that they were going to drain the swamps in Washington DC....I am not sure now if they have more of them running around in the Gov't oddices than ever before. So you might not need to wade in too deep to find all you can handle. Good luck
Look for a school supply store and / or a party supply shop. I've seen some both places, but they may be too big.
Some upscale (as in EXPENSIVE) toy stores have plastic animals in various sizes, too.
Try Hobby Lobby
Check the sewer systems...

Yep, I will vouch for that, You could not carry enough armor to protect yourself, Best to lay on the ground and play dead and hope they just ate someone else.
I thought he was talking about ALCOs!
Dave there are these on the bay which are a bit bigger 3/4"H x 2 1/2"L x1 1/8"W at the widest point, but not unbelievable as some gators are 12+ feet long. They look pretty good.
Do a search for Miniature Alligator in Dollhouse miniatures
Dave, what about miniature Crocodiles? I would think Australia zoo franchises stuff like that to the local toy stores? LOL they're probably made in China and look like Caymans anyway.
Here's one that's a tad large for "O" scale. It didn't taste like chicken

Try The Dollar Tree or other dollar stores and Michaels. I have seen them mixed in with packages of animals. They can be found in various sizes.
