I'm not sure if hey are making new ones. They may be but if you are looking for some this place has them but they are a little more than $99.
I think the only currently cataloged one is part of the Gingerbread RTR set.
I can't imagine why they don't have more available. I don't think they were ever overproduced.

The last time I saw one cataloged was in 2008, at least for separate sale.
They seem in short supply - no doubt because good contract-factories that will deliver on time are getting harder to find and every manufacturer has to pick and choose carefully as to what they have those few producers manufacturer for them. I'm sure some docksider locosare out there in someone's store/someone's website but I haven't seen any for $99 recently.

Check out Nicholas Smith. They have several listed for $94.00
Anyone know if they were ever able to fit TMCC into that little engine? I would like to own one but it must have command control. Good idea if Lionel would bring it back again.

There was a special set of instructions on the ERR site to use the mini commander. Main issue was the need to modify the shell casting because the board didn't quite fit. Read surgery with a dremel, kind of a ZAMAC liposuction procedure to make room for the board. Not a typical do it yourself upgrade.
Seems to me that this model ought to be custom made for RMT to produce in various roadnames.
It was actually a special cruise commander board, Cruise Commander DS.

Except for the minor fact that Lionel owns the tooling.

Chuck, I was bummed that ERR stopped producing the special little cruise board, I'd love to have that for several projects.
I put the DD MotorMite into one of the Docksiders, it was a VERY tight squeeze, and Mr. Dremel did a lot of cutting to provide clearance for it.
Love these little power houses!
I run mine with Industrial Rail Shorty log cars and MTH Bobbers
or they also Look great with a old Marx / Kline mini bay window caboose.
I have 2, one stock and one TMCC.
Kids Love that little hooter whistle.
