Can two of the same exact Legacy engines be doubleheaded?

Since I moved yet again, I am building new benchwork in my basement and look forward to finally exploring the features of my Legacy system. I purchased it when it first came out and only briefly explored what it could do, albeit with only TMCC engines. I honestly cannot remember if I sent it back to Lionel for upgrade, but Lionel has told me as long as it has version 1.2 I am good to go, and it does. I also have the 1.3 modules. It'll be some months yet before any track and wiring is done, however I plan to use Legacy, TMCC, and DCS. Has anything changed with respect to the way these systems operate on the same layout since 2009? I recall I used a TMCC/DCS cable to connect the original command base to the TIU, and had light bulbs on the terminal strips for good DCS signal, but I cannot remember how Legacy fits into the mix.

DCS Rev L sounds like a hardware upgrade?

Is the TMCC/DCS cable still used from original command base to TIU or is that not necessary?

Paul;

The rev L TIU is the latest physical TIU offerred. It has much stronger DCS signal encoders on each channel, and can run DCS on much more track than its predecessors.

It also has a USB port for easier computer hookup for upgrades, etc.

Previous generation TIU's were rev G, H, and i. This is denoted by a sticker in the middle of the bottom of the TIU.

If there is no rev indication, it make be an original pre-rev G TIU.

The rev L TIU is available separately and will work with any previous handheld.

The Legacy base to TIU cable is only needed if you plan to run Legacy engines using the DCS handheld. If you are going to run DCS and Legacy as separate systems, it is not needed.

Looking forward to getting those backgrounds BTW!
