Any problems with downloading or operating 6.1 today? Barry or Marty?? I did six upgrades today and didn't have any problems. Keeping my fingers crossed!

There is 6.1? When did it come out?
Found it on the MTH website this morning!
Thanks for sharing.
Bill, it downloaded with no problem. Did my layout TIU, Bench TIU, spare TIU, and a TIU from a gent who lives north of me. Did all 8 of my remotes and three of his. Not one issue.
Hi
Has any one upgraded their iPhone or iPad to the new operating system that came out last week?
Apple iOS 11
I am using the premium APP on an iPhone 7 Plus / MTH DCS Wi-Fi / Any issues?
Gary
I put the iOS 11 and the 2 updates on my devices with no running issues with the MTH DCS WiFi. The MTH DCS WiFi seems to actually work a little better now with better response than the previous iOS.
Yes, thanks for the tip.
I see that this update relates to using Legacy engines via the MTH DCS WIFI system.
Does anyone know what changes were added to 6.10 affecting Legacy operations?
Thanks
Dave
Do note the stated purpose of the upgrade. Hint: check the app release version.
I don't have any i-Devices and run my DCS 5.0 with just the remotes. I have two TIU's in Super mode, and five AIU's. Should I upgrade to 6.1, and would there be any benefits?
Thanks!
Alex
Boy, I'm glad I didn't waste all the time upgrading all the club TIU's and remotes to 6.0! I'll go get 6.1, but maybe I'll let it "age" a few weeks to see if 6.2 comes out.
Surely you jest Gunrunner?
Steam Forever
John
Not really, I figure if 6.1 just came out, 6.2 could be right around the corner.
Ingenerio, if the system does what you want, I wouldn't bother. If any changes MTH lists on its website, bother.
Joy, get to go through the process of TIU not found, disconnecting everything, reconnecting everything. Fun fun. When does the app update get released?

When did we loose record/playback in super mode ? Or did super never have that ?

What he said.
And then there is version 8.0 in the future.
Joe, what DID you say that's unprintable?
Did the upgrade today and it works much better in use with the android tablet. The iOS devices have been more solid already so I would say this is an improvement.
I just wish there was a way to have variable voltage have selections between 0 and 5 volts.
I just like the "Block" feature of this forum. I sure wish another forum had it. It helps me keep from having a bad post ruin my day.
Unfortunately, I have to use it after another member crosses the line of good taste. I wish it could work before hand. I give too many people "the benefit of the doubt".
Three strikes and I use it!
Joe, I'm not aware of that feature. Were you the blockor or the blockee? If the former, couldn't you just delete the post?

I think he was blocking a member's posts. If you look in the public profile of any member, you'll find this.
Click on the indicated link and they're content will be blocked.
I choose just to ignore them if they annoy me.
Can someone school me on what equipment that I need, besides a computer, to upgrade? I mean baby steps people!
Hi MTH DCS • Wi-Fi Crew • 6.10
Jeff : Thanks for the information on your Apple iOS 11, device.
Below is a photo from my train room shot tonight with a Canon, DSLR T6i. • f16 - ss 1/15. I have 21 locomotives programed in my iPhone 7 Plus. Lionel and MTH locomotives. I started out with an Android phone made the switch this past July. The Apple Store was having back to school sales, I also purchased the Apple Care for the phone. Which is very helpful. I took a class at the Apple Store and the Apple Care help is great because when I have a complex question, the Apple Tech can do screen sharing with my iPhone. This means live help with MTH DCS Wi-Fi, according to the rules on 3rd party APPS, they like to break the rules.
Yesterday was a state holiday in Michigan. The University of Michigan hosted the Michigan State Spartans at the Big House in AnnArbor. My team the Spartans were victorious over U of M 14 to 10.
Anyways: I was up all night celebrating and now I am back in the train room (Man Cave). I will be doing the 6.10 as soon as my adult son who is an automotive engineer for a major auto manufacture, brings over his PC. This updating keeps him involved in the Train Room.
Gary: Just updating one TIU..........

2.0.1 for iOS does not exist. Maybe someday. If they went from 6.0 to 6.1 on the TIU, and we notice no difference, how will a less significant increment from 2.0.0 to 2.0.1 on the iOS app make any difference? Where is a "list" of the "numerous" fixes to be found? It would be nice for the community to receive some positive confirmation that MTH has acknowledged all the bugs reported by the community after ignoring so many emails and phone calls. Who knows what they pay attention to. For my part, I sure hope they have fixed the app's unstable variable voltage control that lurches around, and the fact that every Legacy diesel remains stuck at idle RPM regardless of speed.
Well I updated to 6.10 and as yet I cannot find any changes in operation of either Legacy or MTH.
As well, each time I start up the system I have to "re-fresh" to be able to move an MTH engine into active. Without a re-fresh everything is inactive. This is each and every time. I thought the upgrade might take care of this and deliver more of the Legacy features.
Is this the way it is ?
Thanks
Dave

Hi luvindemtrains
1, Who sold you the TIU? If it was your local hobby shop, they should do this for free.
If you are going to it yourself, you will need these 3 cables.

Good Luck: Gary
Dave,
each time I start up the system I have to "re-fresh" to be able to move an MTH engine into active. Without a re-fresh everything is inactive.
First, the app wants a refresh whenever it's run from the Welcome (Run My Trains) screen. This is unlikely to ever change, for good reasons.
Second, if you're referring to Legacy or TMCC engines, since they cannot be seen automatically by DCS (or TMCC or Legacy, for that matter), they will always become inactive after a refresh.
Regardless, the app itself is still the same. Thus far, it's only the TIU code that has changed (my sources tell me, true or not, that the remote code is the same as 6.0, with just a 6.1 label to keep it in sync name-wise).
Gary, when updating TIUs on the layout, I do not disconnect any wires. I do turn off all input to the 4 channels, and power the TIU through the AUX port. Never had a problem.
Thank You Barry for answering my questions.
Appreciated.
Dave

I my opinion MTH needs to change there thinking on this. Who cares of DCS can't read them. TMCC loco should stay active by default unless the operator chooses otherwise. A real paint to get TMCC locos out of the inactive list.

On the Engines screen click Edit, click and hold the hamburger on the far right of the engine, then drag the TMCC/Legacy engine from Inactive to Active. Not really that big a pain depending on the number of engines you need to move.
Not really sure what I am doing differently, but my Legacy engines don’t end up inactive from session to session as others have mentioned.

What is the purpose of doing a refresh? Obviously I haven’t been doing one and the engines I currently am running on the layout stay active. If I swap one or two out, I will just drag them up to active, which for TMCC and Legacy I would be doing anyway.
What is the purpose of doing a refresh?
If you don't need it, don't do it. It simply ensures that the layout is as the app expects it to be, with all the same TIUs, AIUs and engines that were previously present.
Be aware that the Android version will automatically do a refresh every time it riuns from the "Run My Trains" Welcome screen.
