Morning Ladies and Gents,

I have an old Atlas Extended Vision Caboose I'm moderately upgrading and marking for the DT&I railroad. I have several good pictures to base my mods on but the pictures show a detail that I can't find any closeups of or drawings of. The detail is on both sides of the cab on each of the ends. They look like flag paddles that are stored while not in use in what look like slots made of aluminum channel screwed or riveted to the side. When in use they are hung on brackets on either side of the end of the cab. I'm guessing they're end of train markers of some sort; possibly reflective. Does anybody out there know what these paddle are and maybe have a detail photo of how they are attached to the side of the caboose?

Yep; flags. Lanterns might also be hung there
