Ever look at your cab unit and wonder what was missing...?
I did.
Now I can do this...

Are you making them?
I designed them but they are too small for the resolution of my printer. I had to order them from Shapeways, in extreme detail.
I am currently doing a URR Buffalo and some of those had two lights in a single housing.
I designed them to use either a 3mm jewel or 3mm LED inserted from the back, or 2.5mm LED in the holes. http://shpws.me/MEi3
I use these jewels from Hobby Lobby:
I also found 8mm diameter glass cover slips to use as the headlight housing lens online.
The Lionel sharknoses have a 8mm ID that steps down to a 0.285" inner inner diameter. You can see the twin LEDs in this shot behind the stock lens.
Mario,
Did you fix the pilot on the lionel and lower the loco as well? Is it in one of your posts?
Best Regards
Ron

You betcha!
I followed Norm's lead in this one.
Thanks Mario.
Looking at all you and Norm did I think I'll be on the look out for a brass one with factory paint.

It's not just for cab units...
Have a road switcher that needs one? ALCo RS or in this case, FM?
Lionel's headlight; looks great but vertical.
Prototype:
More examples:
There are little lugs on the back, 3mm apart to hold either the jewel (see above post) or a 3mm LED.
For this FM, I'll have to modify the drawing so there's no lugs and then you can just glue it right to the front of the headlight and paint it black and it'll match the sealed beam prototype.
The holes are 2.5mm for those size LEDs.
For this looking for a more authentic look, how about this...
I'll be testing these to see if they fit.
Very nice work, and I see that you also adjusted the Engineer's windshield wiper on your shark, to a more typical position.
