I'm a big fan of the fiber optics at dwarvin.com. The Lamplighter base is an investment but the lights are comparatively inexpensive and couldn't be easier to install. I'll soon be adding crossing lights and sound with a flashing base. I've installed lights from Atlas, Woodland Scenics and others, and these are better.
