hello all!

i have an older Lehigh Valley 44 ton center cab switcher repainted to a local short line railroad and it has a very noisy E-unit, neutral/forward/reverse.  It just chatters andI figured this is normal due to the age, but I was wondering if there is a retrofit as I would like to add a horn/bell if possible and there may not be enough room due to the existing e-unit.  And quieting the unit would be a plus, maybe something electronic out there?  Tried searching the forum a bit but nothing exactly conclusive yet.  Any help appreciated!

The Dallee #400 Reverse unit is rated at 4 amps, either AC or DC motors.  Check your current when running, if well below the 4amp, the #400 is a beautiful reverse unit.  Dallee also makes Diesel horn/bell sound units.  If space is limited you can make small brackets out of brass and position both units vertical.  Check the Dallee pages, it also gives dimensions for the units.
