His link is to the same source as I have bought for my undertaker's house, but I got some others at the last Timonium show.  Hope to get building that undertaker's house kit someday soon.

Late to the party me...but must comment on the coffin place...it is odd and interesting, and obscure in it muted tones and very unkit like presents...you know I like it Fred, drips of sanding dust, and material scronging in the best tradition of scratchbuilding. Carry on there with your never to be common structure building...

Strangely enough, Vulcan, I think that that undertaker's building kit is very close to the front of the queue.  Been busy getting there - 2 residential houses, a church and the schoolhouse in the past couple of months, all still needing to be scenic'd into place on the layout.

After a very long search I finally  found a photo of a  set I had with my trains a long time ago ,   and  i mean a long time ago  - Unfortunately we do not always keep all of our boyhood toys and this particular piece was given away  Using  the Evans design program I managed to make a similar design in card stock to put with  my new set up  which I hope to have up and running this summer , having moved from Montreal to Calgary last year.

This was my first attempt to build  from scratch rather than simply glue paper to a cardboard box      it took a while and is not yet complete  but I thought I  would post any way

Happy Easter everyone.

A couple of tanks I constructed for a refinery in Ohio. They are actually built in G-Scale and measure 17 inches in diameter by 12 inches high.

alan,  I just wondered because you build quite a bit.  I was going to model one that is down the street from me.  trickling filters, egg shape digester, contact tank, etc. I may give it a shot.  do you use plastistruct pieces or scratch build it all?  ill goggle the plant and post it up.

Chris

Assuming you are talking to me................ there were no plans. I set out to recreate an HO building that I built many years ago, but it was a waterfront building, with a wharf. I don't plan on a waterfront on my next layout so I needed to make it another type of Business. The Burlington Coffin Co. did actually exist but I always thought of it as a large brick building. In doing some research on-line I found out that the company was actually built as a woodframe structure in the late 1800's but burned to the ground in the early 1900's and was rebuilt in brick.

I found a picture of the woodframe building but all this happened after I had already started building it. So it's now becoming sort of a hybrid between the HO building and the real thing.
