Yeh, well living where I live you quickly learn to capitalise on anything that comes along I scored a HO Rolling Mill kit from a friend and converted it into a O scale Engine house or workshop for the Steel Mill locos I reclad it with O scale size sheets. Nothing is finished in the photos, but one day it will be, lots of junk, lots of dirt sounds good....... one day. Some funny locos in the pictures I use mainly Atlas SW's but sometimes something else appears. The steamer is just a plastic AHM 0-8-0 that's not finished either but it runs real slow to I buy strange things off ebay it's the only place I can find O scale apart from the American hobby shops I'm not complaining I find what I want eventually. Roo.

Funny I thought I posted a message saying I was going to keep anyone that's interested in this project, "that I will post an update now and again" but maybe I forgot to press the right button. Anyway I have just paved the workshop area most you won't see unless you put your head inside which could be a problem.

Most of the time I use just straight forward ordinary Plaster of Paris and I did in this case, it dries quick and if you don't have a long lunch you can finish it all before it gets rock hard.

You might have noticed that the other two work tracks have now got N Scale cinder ballast on them things are moving along now that the daughters cat has gone home!

Keep looking it's about time something was finished. Roo.

I managed to get some colour onto the shed now it just needs weathering I also painted the paved section a concrete colour soon the details and ground cover and blending in everything I want it to look dirty, untidy, gritty like some of the photos in the Morning Sun steel railroad books. The EL locos are on lease to the steel mill for hot metal traffic.  Roo.

Thanks fellas.

I put down some more ground cover today tomorrow have to work out the switching lists for Friday's session might try and get a bit more done in the afternoon.

Nothing to do with the engine house but I have also been working on my fleet of 40' AHM Gondolas not highly detailed but they have Kadees and Intermountain wheels some lead shot underneath for weight plenty of weathering and they are ready to go and they are cheap!

We use them for lots of jobs as spacer cars on hot metal trains, one is used for a crane car, some are used for limestone traffic.   DSC00797

Very nice Bob. puts my pitiful effort to shame but when you see work like Bob's it makes you want to try harder next time or.......give up!

I started with something similar to Bobs using 3mm thick board and was going to clad it with brick sheets but when this kit turned up I went with it.DSC00801

Thanks for posting Roo.
