I have a PS2 Railking F-3 engine that has all sounds: engine, horn, bell. But, --the engine sound does not vary from idle speed sounds. Runs fine & speeds up ok, but the engine still sounds as at idle. How come?

Need some more info, are you running conventional or DCS?
If conventional does it seem like it has cruise control or is it instant response to throttle? If the latter you have an issue with speed control, probably the tach reader causing no speed control and no rpm ramp up. G
I am running DCS for past 6 years or so. Problem started tonight.
Can you alter the engine sound over the full 8 step range using the Rev Up and Rev Down rocker, and if so under what circumstances does it revert to the idle speed sound?
No I cannot change it. It does not "revert" It just stays at idle sounds.
In the interest of building the collective knowledge base on OGR,
1) in DCS if you read back the Odometer, does it appear to change correctly?
2) if you can operate conventional, is it also stuck at the idle engine sound?
OK, back to your problem. As a seasoned DCS user, I'm assuming you already confirmed a good battery, and tried the Feature/Factory resets. I suppose the next step would be to re-load the soundset.
I removed the engine and then re-added it. That worked. Thanks for your thoughts and ideas.
You may have been able to just do a feature reset and that would have cleared any software conflict. Glad you got it working.
Because you had control in DCS where track voltage was full, that would eliminate a tach reader/speed control issue. G
