I have a LionChief plus engine, 6-82418 and the engine sounds are not working. I have checked the forum for suggestionns, but so far everything checks out ok except no sounds at all. It runs, but seems slower than it did before. the light on the engine lights, i changed the batteries in the remote, all three switches have been flipped and reset to on and remote. I have checked the speaker wiring and impedance; it looks good. the draw bar connection looks good, but I have not checked it electrically. I tried to increase the volume, but that did not work either.
I have another engine (the one that came with a kit) and it runs on the same track with the same transformer. The transformer has buttons for a bell and whistle which are not working with this engine. I though they worked with this basic engine, but I may be mistaken.
Do you have any suggestions for me to check before I take it in to the train store to have it checked it out. My wife says I paid 800 for it, but they are on ebay in for 350.
