Very cool stuff!! When I was little back in the 60's, my dad had a record of steam sounds. He and Mom, had a pretty good stereo, and he loved opening all of the windows and doors, and cranking it up. There was no train for miles from our home in Omaha. He got the biggest kick out of neighbors a few doors down, or people walking by trying to figure out where the train was at? I have to ask my mom if she still has it. It was a 33 speed.
