I moved from Connecticut to Florida in 2013 and haven’t attended York since then. I’m attending this year. Where and what nights are the dinner gatherings? I hope to see some old friends and meet some new ones.
Thanks

Hi Doug,
The OGR Forum dinner is Thursday night at Quaker Steak and Lube on Kenneth Ave. All are welcome - just show up and head to the back of the restaurant. The back section is set apart by a partition. Folks start to gather around 5:15 or 5:30 but you can come anytime - some don't arrive until after 6:30. If you arrive later, the back tables will most likely be full but there are plenty of folks who eat dinner in the other area of the restaurant and then everyone migrates to the back for conversation with folks standing or pulling up an extra chair. You don't need to sit by yourself - just ask if you can join folks sitting at a table with an empty chair. Unless it's being saved you'll be welcomed. Like I mentioned, once folks are done eating everyone gets up and walks around.
There is also the OGR Forum breakfast that Peter Condro organizes on Thursday morning at Round the Clock Diner at 7:30 am. Look for a thread in a few weeks. Again, everyone shows up and grabs a seat.
Both are great ways to meet new people!

Thanks John. It’s been a long time since I met you on my way to York and sold you my RK Daylight set. Hopefully see you and others at Quaker Steak.
Wow, that has been a long time. I've since sold most of my RK stuff.

I don’t have any either. All Lionel engines.
Oh, I have tons of MTH stuff, and I do still have some RK locomotives, but mostly Premier. I also have lots of Lionel.
It's not food, but don't forget the open house at the train club in Red Lion on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Well worth a stop, especially if you've never been there.
The LCCA meets on Wednesday night at Smokey Bones.

I’ll second that suggestion. Definitely worth a look, it’s a fine layout.

Is that at the red lion train station?

Yes. IIRC, 6-9pm both nights.

If you use MTH DCS there is a DCS Users meeting Wednesday evening. It has been moved to a new location this year. It is always informative and great to sit with friends with common interest.
One big benefit, Mike would bring Catalogs to the museum on Wednesday during his dog and pony prior to York. With all the hub bub going on at the museum with the train being there, it will be nuts. I'm passing on the museum myself Wednesday. The guys from MTH bring catalogs to the user meeting so you can get a first look prior to Thursday.
A simple search for the meeting here will give you the details.
BTW, I'm in Fort Myers. Where in Florida do you reside?
