I have a Lionel #18301 SRR FM diesel from 1988. It's been sitting on my shelf since I bought it, until I recently decided to sell it. When I tried to test run it, it sounded like the motors were running but it wouldn't move. I removed the cab and tried again. Sure enough, both armatures are spinning but it doesn't move. I pulled off the trucks and I don't see anything obvious wrong, but there's a LOT of empty space around where the worm gears should engage with the drive gears. Lionel support wasn't any help. They do have a parts diagram of an FM that looks identical but it doesn't show a bushing for the truck end of the worm gear. The gears can't be worn out since there's almost no run time on this engine. Has anyone seen anything like this? I'm open to any ideas. Thanks
