This stereo recording represents the last sounds of the Santa Fe 4-8-4 #3759 departing Los Angeles, through Pasadena, and to San Bernardino.  The second side has her tackling the steep Cajon Pass (near my Apple Valley home), and from the Summit on to Barstow. My 15" speakers make it sound like #3759 is running right through my game room during her ascent up the Pass!

The rest of the album has an SP Starlight with a Northern series 4400 4-8-4 on the point, and an SP cab-forward series 4200 4-8-8-2 articulated.

This is where a powerful stereo brings it home...you can almost smell the valve oil!
