I purchased alot of brand new fastrack sections. After building a good sized layout with a 90 degree cross I tried to make it work with limited success. I wired the terminal section correctly to a brand new Rail king z1000 transformer. I have two engines and they both only work for small secitons of the track. So I assume its not the tain itself. I have tried to smaller layouts etc. I could get somefunctionality with selct pieces. It seems like the current is not transferring completely across the whole layout? I thought I had plenty of tranformer power? Can someone please help me understand what the problem could be. Its all brand new so I am confused as to why it woul be the track. I had an old 3 rail set I got out of storage thats 30+ years old. I could get it to work but not consistently due to the corrosion and age of the track I determined the brand new fasttrack system would be as easy update. I hope I posted thsi problem to the right forum. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Check the connectors on the Fastrack at every section, sounds like the connectors are not tight enough. I had a small 3 foot by 9 foot layout of Fastrack and had to supply power to 2 places. Since then I have gone back to O gauge tubular track.

You may need more power connections at various places on your layout.

Fastrack is a good track system, but as with all track systems you sometimes have to do a few things to get it to it's best possible working potential.
First, welcome to the forum!
have you resolved the issue? The first suspect would be the included wire with the terminal track. It's on the small side.
What's the size of the layout?

Lionel's YouTube channel has a video that goes over a common problem and how to fix it with the third rail of fas-track. It sounds like that is what you have run into.
Thanks for the help fellas. I have a 3 1/2 year old son that is dying for me to get it working. Ihave not resolved the isssue yet. I had a good sized track originally but when it did not work I made a really small track and still no luck. The negine will only travel about 6-8 sections of track before quitting. I really like th fastrack because of the ease of installation. I will try all the suggestions above when I return home next week. I will post a response of my efforts.
Thanks again
