Fastrack Operating track and legacy engine anomaly

That's usually the rollers bouncing on the projecting magnet on the operating track.  I'm surprised that the battery didn't cure it.

I was surprised as well. I'll check the battery. 

John, as I think about it since there are two sets of rollers front and rear, wouldn't the separation prevent a complete loss of power due to rollers jumping?

I have a legacy s-4 switcher that shorts out going over the fastrack operating section.

Had to apply electrical tape to the underside of the chasis and other places but never fully corrected the issue and slow speeds

One thing with some locomotives, some switchers in particular, is they have very little center roller travel before it contacts the truck frame.  That shorts things out, it's a sticky issue.
