Yes, the switches will accommodate the tinplate and the only issue I have had it with some early passenger cars that have the standard gauge wheels on the trucks.
As far as operating the command switches they will operate under a full TMCC set, either Cab1 and base, or the Legacy systems. Just be advised that the DCS cannot address the TMCC switches even with a TMCC or Legacy command base tethered in. You can grab the TMCC or Legacy remote but they will not operate the DCS units in DCS. You might be better off getting a TIU and just the regular remote switches in Fastrack.
Question is why command Fastrack Switches and DCS? Maybe I am missing something?
I have attached a recent video where is shows a tinplate 263e with Protosound 3.0 going through Fastrack switches with no issues along with a Protosound 3.0 tinplate 249e with no problems either...
I saw your video before and was very impressed with the Tin Plate running quickly thru the new switches, along with my other buddies now telling me these switches handle the Tin, I want the Lionel FasTrack switches with no need for any wiring. Jeff if I want to connect the remote switch controller, can I also set it up both ways. I may have certain switches in some areas, where I want to be able to have dual controls. On the next layout I build I want to eliminate as much wiring as possible, starting with some of the switches. If Lionel TMCC is the only company producing these kind of fully wireless remote control switches, I will run both DCS & TMCC in the future. Sense there is no way to make my old 711 type Lionel switches wireless remote control, I will need to invest in the new technology, especially sense these switches accommodate Tin now. Thanks again for the birthday video, it spurred my interest even further, into the wirelss remote control FasTrack switches. These new FT switches are completely wireless are they not, or am I misunderstanding.
