I have no photo. I like the simple, Lionel #33 (1st generation).

Hi Pete always love the paint scheme on that #8 and still have the graphite one that I purchase from you. Just finished my new # 8 from pieces that I picked up from several sources, should have a post on it in a day or so.
My sentimental favorite is a nice 318E my Dad brought home in 1938, used, have no idea where he got it. The second is a restored 1835E I bought, my only steamer but I am looking for another steam engine.
The first one I ever bought, a Lionel 33 from 1926:
Runs like a champ and looks great uner the Christmas tree.

400E
Liberty Lines 600E Hudson. Wish I had one..........
My favorite electric is my original 402. I just love the way it looks with the 418, 419 and 490 passenger cars. It is so classical 1920s.
My favorite steamer would be the original 392 with the twelve wheel tender I just purchased. Right now it is with some nickel 500 series freight cars, but I would like to find a set of original nickel Stephen Girard cars that I could afford....

I love that locomotive too! In fact, after looking for years I just found and purchased one and it will have its maiden run for me at Trainfest in Milwaukee, November 12-13, 2016. Come see it in action on the SGMA layout!

Interesting to see the different favorites .... suppose that is why Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors
There are many favorites... but one that rises to my top is the Lionel 1912 thin rim pulling a string of knobby 18, 19, &190 cars . With the thin rims the engine has a lightness and grace .... the 3 rivet trucks and knobs ..added charm . Straight out of beautiful New Haven, CT circa 1910/ 1911. Cheers Carey
From a looks standpoint, these two guys are right up there. Operationally, I love 384's and 390's. They look good and do not overpower the portable layouts which is where most of my running is done.
Steve
I love my #42.
Flyer Brass Piper.
Hello My friend , My favorite Standard Gauge is Lionel #390 E with tender. Thanks longbow57ca.
My favorite is the 385e with the original Lionel tender as opposed to the Ives design. But I only have this custom restored #8:
I think the 402/408 style pantograph looks better than the original!

Looks great and I agree on the pantograph (that is what I used), I will also be ordering the large bulb type red and clear LED's for the head lights.

I really like your loco!
If I could get this thing to work, I'd have a 33
I guess I would have to say this. I love Red!
Hello William 1, That is sure a nice looking black 384 Standard Gauge locomotive. I have a 390E with tender Standard Gauge locomotive. It is sure nice to see them running so well and in good shape too. I also love Standard Gauge trains too. They were great trains too. Thanks longbow57ca.
mmmm.....something tells me my standard gauge collection is going to go through an imminent growth spurt!
A pair of tens banging the diamonds. Beats an ace in the hole breaking your heart any dang day.
Lead unit is my dad's gray, so it's darn close to being my favorite. She usually pulls her gray and maroon 300 passenger cars, but like most of my crew, she'll lend a hand if need be.
I still have a bunch of videos on my phone from last winter. My layout is a tad boring after a watch or two, but the sound of the trains on the rails on the plastic floor does sound cool. Bangin the diamonds baby. Original standard gauge all the way. That's the way I play. As always, Cheers, BK
Thank you my friend your Standard Gauge are very nice I just love looking at them and watch them run and very nice photos too. Thanks longbow57ca.
And thank you for running my favorite too!
